Where do the questions come from?
The KROK Trainer database was assembled from historical KROK question sets covering multiple examination years. These source datasets are useful for preparation, but older collections can contain transcription problems, OCR artifacts, awkward English wording and, in some cases, possible answer-key discrepancies.
For that reason, KROK Trainer does not assume that a question or answer key is correct simply because it exists in the original dataset.
What we are not claiming
KROK Trainer does not claim that every historical question, translation or answer key has already been independently verified against official source material.
KROK Trainer does not operate an automatic multilingual synchronization system that matches Ukrainian, English and Russian versions of examination questions.
Database corrections are not crowdsourced or automatically accepted from user reports. Potential problems may be identified or reported, but uncertain wording and medical changes require review before the database is changed.
Official material is used as a preferred validation reference where it is available. That is different from claiming that the entire current database originated directly from official PDFs.
How the database is reviewed
The project uses a deliberately conservative quality-review workflow. The original source database is preserved, while proposed corrections are evaluated separately before they are accepted.
- SAFE — objective issues such as clear typos, spacing, punctuation, OCR artifacts or unambiguous grammatical errors. These can be corrected when the intended text is clear.
- REVIEW — awkward wording, suspicious terminology or text where a correction could change interpretation. These require review rather than automatic replacement.
- MEDICAL REVIEW — anything that may affect medical meaning, factual content, answer options or the answer key. These are flagged and are not automatically changed.
Question wording and answer keys are therefore treated as separate quality problems. A question can be linguistically imperfect while still having the correct answer, or it can appear perfectly readable while containing an answer-key conflict.
What is used for comparison?
Where available, official Testing Board material is the preferred validation reference. Additional reliable comparison material can be used to identify discrepancies, but a disagreement between sources is treated as something to investigate — not as permission to silently replace a medical answer.
This distinction matters: the objective is not to make the database look cleaner at any cost. The objective is to improve it without accidentally changing the medical meaning of historical examination questions.
Current review status
Phase 2: 2018–2023 is the next review stage.
These figures describe the review work completed so far. They should not be interpreted as a claim that every KROK Trainer question across every year has already been independently verified against an official booklet.
What KROK Trainer can — and cannot — promise
KROK Trainer can provide structured practice, exam simulation, mistake review, AI-assisted explanations and performance analytics using its current question database. The project can also document how that database is being progressively audited and corrected.
It cannot guarantee that every historical question, translation or answer key is error-free. It is also an independent educational project and is not an official platform of the Ukrainian Testing Board or a substitute for current official examination guidance.
What about AI Explain?
AI Explain is designed as an additional learning aid in Practice Mode. AI-generated explanations are separate from the stored answer key and should be treated as educational support rather than an authoritative medical reference. When an explanation appears inconsistent with the question or accepted answer, that discrepancy can also help identify material that deserves further review.
Why publish the limitations?
For an exam-preparation platform, transparency is more useful than claiming perfection. KROK Trainer is under active development, and database quality is treated as an ongoing part of the project rather than a finished checkbox.
As additional years are reviewed, the status on this page and the release timeline can be updated so students can distinguish between what has been checked, what is still being audited and what remains uncertain.
